No.4 White Station Flatens Ridgeway

The White Station High School Boys’ Basketball team travelled down Park Ave. to take on Ridgeway High School in Saturday’s match up.

White Station (10-0) was obviously the favorite in this game as they are currently ranked No. 4 on the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings.

Ridgeway (8-7) started the game off with some solid play from Keion Peoples and Terrance Smith early in the game, as their team was able to keep the score close. White Station was able to fend Ridgeway off though in the first, holding an early 5pt. advantage leading 18-13.

From that point on Leron Black, Sr. Forward and Illinois signee, put the game on his back as the Spartans quickly ran away with the game. White Station outscored Ridgeway 21-11 in both the second and third quarters making the score 60-35 heading into the fourth quarter.

Ridgeway was able to put up some last minute points in garbage time to keep the score closer, but the damage was already done. White Station went on to win the game 75-60.

White station looks to continue their hot start to the season and improve upon their ranking in their next match-up when they host Melrose High School at 7:30 p.m. on Monday before heading to Springfield, Mo., this week for the eight-team Bass Pro Tournament of Champions at Missouri State University’s JQH Arena. White Station opens the tournament at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday against Wesleyan Christian Academy NC.
