Moving up the rankings list all season, White Station Basketball sits in No. 3 in the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings. In their latest triumph, the Spartans took a 72-51 victory over Melrose.
With four players putting up double-digit figures, senior LeRon Black led White Station. The 6-foot-8 forward scored 16 points, followed by Derrick Dandridge, Curtis Phillips, and Nych Smith who all scored ten points.
Melrose’s Bradley Walker scored a game-high 18 points, however White Station shut down the rest of the Wildcats. The Spartans held Melrose to single-digit quarters in both of the first two quarter while White Station jumped out to a dominating 41-17 lead by the half.
It was not until the final quarter when the Spartans’ subs were in that Walker and the Wildcats found their rhythm, scoring 23 points, but White Station had too large of a lead to cause any worry.
Advancing to 14-0, White Station impresses more and more each game. The Spartans next challenger is Wesleyan Christian, ranked 24th in the nation and 2nd in North Carolina.
